Bianca is OliveBio’s lead engineer and an expert in environmental biotechnology. She holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Southern California, where she was an NSF Graduate Research Fellow focused on microbial biotransformation of PFAS and innovative remediation strategies. Her scientific contributions have earned her numerous awards for both research excellence and mentorship of young scientists. She has been a key contributor to major research initiatives such as the Southern California ReWater Center and the USC Research and Innovation (R&I) President’s Sustainability Initiative Award project PFAS ACT.
In addition to her academic training, Bianca gained valuable industry insight through two summers working in a chemical refinery, where she supported environmental compliance efforts and interfaced with plant operations—gaining firsthand exposure to the challenges of implementing sustainable technologies at industrial scale. With hands-on experience designing and operating bench-scale bioreactor systems, she brings a practical, systems-level approach to environmental innovation. Bianca is passionate about using process design and engineering to maximize the tools of nature as we reimagine, redesign, and scale the production of next-generation sustainable bioplastics.
We are a team of molecular biologists, geneticists, and bioinformaticians brought together by the desire to solve difficult problems with far-reaching implications.
